        Pigment removal material. Extraction of acid, bases, and neutrals from aqueous or organic matrix using polarphilic, hydrophobic, and hydrogen bond interactions.

        Extraction of polar acid, bases, and neutrals from aqueous or organic matrix using polarphilic, hydrophobic, and hydrogen bond interactions. Useful for halogenated polar compounds.

        Water-wettable. Chemical structure of bonded mixed mode fullerene on a porous silica particle. pH Stable from 0-14 under typical SPE elution conditions.

        Extraction of polar acid, bases, and neutrals from aqueous or organic matrix using anion exchange, polarphilic, hydrophobic, and hydrogen bond interactions. Less retentive than COS, COA.

        Water-wettable. Chemical structure of carbon covering the surface of a porous alumina particle. Surface contains alumina endcapped with phosphate ion. pH Stable from 0-14 under typical SPE elution conditions.

        Extraction of acid, bases, and neutrals from aqueous or organic matrix using Lewis Acid, polarphilic, hydrophobic, and hydrogen bond interactions. Highly mixed mode.

        Necessity is the mother of Invention


        United Science started to engineer carbons for separations purposes in response to a general need for different chromatographic selectivity.  Along the way, we found that naturally derived products can generally not stand up to the rigors of analytical work and that the technology has essentially remained in an unadvanced state for decades.  Even more appalling are the costly poor recoveries, poor stability, questionable chemical reproducibility,  and high equipment maintenance that GCB inflicts on its users.    Behold the engineered carbon for the masses.

        CarbonX is available in a wide variety of particle sizes and pore diameters.



        1. Reproducible pore and particle diameter that does not change when in use or when shipped.

        2. Particle sizes from monodisperse HPLC style particles to mesh sizes.

        3. Pore diameters available from 5-300 angstroms.

        Mechanical Stability is Important Even for Low Pressure Sample Preparation Applications



        1. GCB is notoriously mechanically friable.

        2. Breaks up in shipping and during use.

        3. Breakage changes surface area and collapses porosity.

        4. Streak test qualitatively compares friabilty.

        5. CarbonX is stable to 10,000 psi plus so it won't break up during use.
